Conditional Logic

What Is Conditional Logic?

Conditional logic lets you show or hide fields based on the values of other fields. For example, show a “Company Name” field only when the respondent selects “Business” as their account type, or show an upload field only when they check “I have supporting documents.”

Setting Up Conditions

On any field, open the Conditions panel. Add one or more conditions, each with:

  • Field — The field whose value you want to check.
  • Operator — How to compare the value (see below).
  • Value — The value to compare against.

Available Operators

  • Equals — The field value must exactly match the specified value.
  • Not Equals — The field value must not match.
  • Contains — The field value must contain the specified text as a substring.
  • Not Contains — The field value must not contain the text.
  • Is Empty — The field has no value.
  • Is Not Empty — The field has any value.
  • Greater Than — For numeric fields, the value must be greater than the specified number.
  • Less Than — For numeric fields, the value must be less than the specified number.

Matching Mode

When a field has multiple conditions, choose how they combine:

  • All — Every condition must be true for the field to be visible.
  • Any — At least one condition must be true.

Validation Behaviour

Fields that are hidden by conditional logic are not validated when the form is submitted. This means a hidden field marked as “required” will not block submission — it only requires a value when it is visible.
