Changing Plans & Proration

How plan upgrades, downgrades, and proration work.

Changing Plans & Proration

Switching Plans

If your agency offers multiple plans, click Change Plan on the subscription page. Select a new plan and billing cycle (monthly or yearly).

Preview Before Confirming

Before the change takes effect, you see a proration preview showing exactly what you will be charged or credited. This includes:

  • The remaining value of your current plan (credit)
  • The cost of the new plan for the rest of the billing period (charge)
  • The net amount: positive means you pay, negative means you receive a credit

How Proration Works

Proration is handled automatically by Stripe and takes effect immediately:

  • Upgrade — you are charged the difference between the old and new plan, prorated for the remaining days in your billing period. The new features are available immediately.
  • Downgrade — you receive a credit for the unused portion of your old plan. The credit is applied to your next invoice. Features from the old plan that are not in the new plan become unavailable immediately.
  • Cycle change — switching from monthly to yearly (or vice versa) is treated as a plan change with proration.

Example

If you are on a $50/month plan and upgrade to a $100/month plan halfway through the month:

  • Credit for unused half of old plan: $25
  • Charge for half month on new plan: $50
  • Net charge: $25 (billed immediately)
